What is the Pathway’s Program?

As an educational and recruiting initiative through the Admissions Office at 4Cs, the Pathways Program offers personalized guidance through the entire enrollment process. Goals of the program include:

  • Expanding access to high schools on Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts
  • Providing a personalized enrollment pathway for each participant
  • Increasing FAFSA completion though financial aid assistance
  • Providing one $4,000 scholarship to each participating high school
  • Getting students advised and registered earlier than general applicants

Who is eligible?

The Pathways Program is open to any student attending one of our regional partner high schools. To qualify, students must complete the following:

  1. Complete the 4Cs Online Application before March 1, 2020*
  2. Submit official high school transcript
  3. Attend an On-the-Spot interview at their high school
  4. Complete testing, advising, and registration at 4Cs

*Note: Students who do not meet the deadline are still eligible to enroll at Cape Cod Community College, however, they will not be eligible to participate in the Pathways Program benefits.

What are the benefits?

Open House & Showcase Day
Open House & Showcase Day is a one-day event designed to give prospective students an opportunity to learn about what 4Cs has to offer. This event will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 8:30am–1:00pm. High schools are encouraged to provide transportation or allow for an excused absence to visit.

On the spot interviews
One-on-one personal interviews, application review and “on the spot” acceptance with an admissions counselor at your high school. We encourage all school counselors to work with their designated 4Cs admissions liaison in coordinating an on-the-spot date.

Financial Aid Assistance
Personalized financial aid assistance during on-campus FAFSA drop-in days. Drop-in days occur every Wednesday between 4pm–6pm at the Financial Aid Office.

Scholarship
Qualifying students will have the opportunity to apply for the Pathways Program Scholarship Award. Qualified students must apply before May 31, 2020, complete the FAFSA, and demonstrate financial need. Pathways Program Scholarships are in the amount of $1,000 per semester and are renewable for up to four contiguous semesters (up to $4,000 total award). One scholarship per participating high school is awarded.

Testing, Advising, and Registration
Students can opt to come on their own or with their high school to complete the basic skills assessment (ACCUPLACER®) on our campus. Assessments are followed by an opportunity for each student to meet their academic advisor to review scores, discuss academic goals, and create their fall schedule. Students should meet with their school counselor to determine the best option for them.

Early Registration
Accepted high school students will meet with an advisor and register for fall courses well in advance of high school graduation and newly matriculated students. (Bills will not be due until August.)

Accepted Students Day
This one-day event will be held on Saturday May 16, 2020 to celebrate the students who have been accepted for Fall admission. This event will be open to parents, guardians, and family of accepted students. We will announce the recipients of the Pathways Scholarship and Presidential Scholarship. More details to follow.
