The Engineering Sciences & Applied Technology department is the home to a variety of programs in the fields of industrial technology and engineering. A small class size and state-of-the-art hardware, software, and course-ware characterize the typical classroom experience.

Department focused advisers are skilled at assisting students looking to earn an Associate’s degree and/or transfer to a Bachelor’s degree program. They are equally knowledgeable in the requirements for earning either a college or industry certificate that will demonstrate workforce competency for internships and professional employment.
STEM Advising can assist all current and aspiring STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) students with career advising. This includes students who are currently enrolled or considering pursuing a degree in a STEM-related field.

Colleen has previously taught at Mount Holyoke College, the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) and Westfield State University before coming to Cape Cod Community College. Colleen holds a B.S. Physical Geography and Anthropology with a minor in Sociology/ Criminal Justice Certificate. M.S. Geosciences and ABD PhD work in Geosciences with a focus in Biogeochemistry from UMass.
As a graduate student at UMass she had an amazing advisor in her program that encouraged her to jump out of her comfort zone in course work, research and extracurricular activities! This made all the difference in her academic pursuits and building her lifelong love of learning! She enjoys working with students to find their academic and career passions.
